Data Distribution Network Systems
Destiny Satellite's primary data distribution network based on the Gilat SkyStar advantage (SSA) satellite system provides
a high-performance data communications for interactive and high volume transaction applications. It supports all commonly
used communications standards for maximum flexibility and capability with customer equipment. It is also capable of
optional video, audio and voice services. The Destiny satellite system utilizes unique patented satellite access scheme,
advanced electronics and modular design resulting in outstanding network performance and highly affordable link services.
The most popular application is Internet linking services.
Complementing the Satellite network are facilities that allows two way high-speed transfer of data over the cable television
facilities of Destiny Cable. This is the same facility utilized for the Destiny On-Line High-Speed Internet distribution
service.
Domestic Switched Voice Hauling and High-Speed Data Services
Destiny's latest satellite facilities, the SkyData Integrated Services Access Terminal (ISAT) satellite system, are capable
of direct point-to-point communications between the Central station and any remote terminal or coomunications between any
remote terminal without passing through the central station. This results in maximum flexibility and reliability of
the links. These facilities employ a patented technology which provides high speed multiplexing and routing of signals
with high efficiency and is very ideal for networks with heavy data and voice traffic.
Destiny Satellite facilities provide domestic hauling of switched voice (inter-exchange services) on high quality voice
channels supporting digital or analog interfaces. These facilities can also provide clear data link services of up to
2 Mbps. per circuit that support all common communications standards and connections.
Inter-eXchange (IXC) Services
Destiny Satellite Corporation has installed a fully digital Inter-exchange Switch at its main Communications
Center in Makati to handle traffic interchange between its interconnected carriers and telephone operators nationwide.
Supporting the Metro Manila end connections is Destiny Inc. Fiber Optic network infrastructure based on highly efficient transmission
technology that offers very high circuit capacities. Planned enhancements on the fiber optic facilities include the
implementation of the latest technology improvements that further increase transmission speeds and circuit capacities.
Video/TV Uplink Services
A traditional product, Destiny Satellite video uplink service employs digitally compressed video broadcast (uplink) and
reception technologies based on Scientific Atlanta's Power Vu satellite system which provides enhanced quality full motion
video at a substantially lower cost and better utilization of satellite resources than traditional analog systems.
